Everything here is written or reviewed by a person before it publishes. We use software to research, gather data and prepare drafts — a lot of publishers now do, and pretending otherwise would be dishonest — but nothing goes out unread, and no page is generated and published untouched.
Where a figure comes from a public dataset, we say which one and when it was pulled. Where something is an estimate or an illustration rather than a measurement, we label it as one. If we get something wrong and you tell us, we correct it and say that we did.
